Maybe. We actively support a number of local dog related nonprofits, including Bella’s Bully Buddies, the Baltimore Bully Crew and BARCS. We regularly donate free appointment slots to help adoptable and foster dogs find forever homes. Being a local and independent pet photography studio, there is of course a limit to how much we can give – even in how much of our time we can donate. But as a general rule of thumb, we usually try to help where […]
K9rt.com is web store and online gallery owned by the Puptrait Studio. The website currently sells Puptrait Studio gift cards. However, we have plans to soon expand the website’s offerings to include other items, specifically fine art prints. Puptrait.com will remain where we host our studio’s dog photo portfolio and continue to book photographic pet portrait commissions. We will also be maintaining our existing print on demand line of licensed merch on RedBubble, as this shop takes us zero effort to maintain […]

All deposits and print orders are non refundable. We use only the best photo printers, paper and mounting materials resulting in a significant investment in production expenses for each order and as such, paid print orders can not be cancelled or refunded once placed. Gift packages and pet portrait session gift cards are non refundable and can not be redeemed for cash.
Like most businesses, we carry both commercial liability and E&O insurance.
We are not an animal talent agency. But if your commercial photography concept requires the recruitment of canine talent, chances are we can find the right dog to bring your vision to life. As one of the premier dog portrait photographers in the Baltimore / Washington D.C. region, we maintain a fairly sizable network of cooperative dogs in a variety of breeds, colors, markings, ages and sizes. More popular and common dogs breeds we’ve casted for commercial pet photoshoots: Pugs […]
We try to dedicate at least 1 day a week for the probono shooting of foster and rescue dogs in hope of helping them find forever homes. We would love to shoot more rescue dogs and expand our reach to help more rescue groups and foster organizations. But being an independent photo studio can make it a struggle to make ends meet at times. Honestly, the number one thing holding us back from photographing more rescue animals are those pesky […]
Private pet portrait clients at the Puptrait Studio are free to purchase as many or as few prints as they want. It is exceptionally rare for one of our private dog portrait clients to not meet or exceed their minimum print order commitment (it has literally happened twice in 4 years). But if you fail to meet your minimum print commitment, it isn’t the end of the world. There are no penalties or surprise fees. If you don’t meet your […]
All Puptrait Studio clients receive web-ready watermark free digital files of their session proofs and we encourage clients to download and share their favorite images from their pet portrait session on social media. Tag the Puptrait Studio on Facebook & Instagram As we don’t watermark proofs (We think watermarks are ugly and distracting. Wouldn’t you agree?) we ask that you please tag the Puptrait Studio when sharing your dog photos on social media to make it a little easier for your […]
We get this question a lot from new pet portrait clients. There are a few reasons that our photo prints might be a bit more expensive than you might expect. Puptrait prices are actually priced surprisingly competitively Amazingly enough, our prints actually aren’t that expensive compared to what other comparable photographers in the area are charging for prints. While we would never suggest our prints are cheap or something that all dog owners can afford, we were surprised to see […]
