Age: 2.5 years old
Description: Riley is a 2.5 year old pit mix. His litter of nine puppies was dumped at BARCS. When they went to neuter him, they discovered a severe heart murmur, so severe he was not a candidate for anesthesia. Due to his medical issues they reached out to Bella’s Bully Buddies & he was placed in a foster home. That’s how found him! After he came home to us at 15 weeks old, we went to the dog cardiologist. He was diagnosed with severe pulmonary stenosis & surgery was strongly encouraged. So, the little guy had a balloon valvuloplasty. And it was a huge success. His heart is working within the normal range - which is not a normal outcome of surgery - it’s rare to get such an incredible result. Now our little guy has a normal life expectancy & no activity restrictions (and has been neutered)! He loves to play with his big sister dog, Bella, thinks all dogs & people are his best friends, and tries to eat mulch when we aren’t looking. He’s the best!
