We Are Dogs Too: The Struggles of the Small Toy Breed

Small dogs have been around for quite some time and we can’t really blame people for loving them so much. Small dog breeds come in different breeds and they don’t have a specific weight category to classify them otherwise but they are not that difficult to spot. These dogs can even weigh as low as 2 pounds and yes, that would be a fully grown small dog. When we think of small dogs, we would usually think of lapdogs but […]

Studio Shoot with Carly the Puppy from Bella’s Bully Buddies

We went back to basics with an all white set shooting Carly. Carly is a 3 month old pitbull mix currently in foster care at Bella’s Bully Buddies. As you can see, we had a little trouble keeping this sleepy pup awake as she was totally pooped from her training class earlier in the day. If you would like to adopt Carly, you can submit an application online through the Bella’s Bully Buddies website. Are you a pet owner in […]

Watch Out – Killing Pets with Painkillers

People grab a painkiller and don’t think twice about taking one. Let’s take look at what can go wrong… Is Tylenol safe to give pets? Acetaminophen (Tylenol) – Tylenol reliably kills cats. I have had many clients give their cats this medication to help bring down fevers. The problem is that this […]

Dr. Chileamor or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Strays

Recently, I visited Chile. Not on assignment, but rather with my wife on vacation. I had not planned on working or really taking many photos beyond a few snapshots with our tour group. I didn’t even bring any serious gear or glass – not even a tripod. I was in full-on vacation mode. But it didn’t take long for me to realize that I was experiencing something important, something that would quickly change how I saw the rest of our […]

baltimore maryland dying sick dog great dane inhome session with pretty woman

The vet said it was just a limp…

Her stoutly giant was suddenly tender footed. So like any good mom, she took him in. “Everything checks out with the CAT scan.  Keep an eye on it. If he’s still limping in a month or so, schedule a follow-up.” Within a week, a grapefruit sized mass appeared on his wrist. And, as per the Vet’s advice, in a month or so she scheduled a follow-up.  Not to examine the Dane’s foot, but to end the pain that had rapidly ravaged her best friend. Thunderbear […]
