K9 Casting Call: Baja Ponchos

PLEASE NOTE: THIS CASTING IS CLOSED AND WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS AT THIS TIME.

The Puptrait Studio has been tapped by Baja Ponchos to help spruce up their photo library.

We’re looking for at least four dogs, maybe eight, in the Baltimore area to model during canine fashion shoots.

Baja Ponchos is a great company that is doing some fantastic things in the Baja community. Their dog ponchos are stitched from hand woven serape blankets from Guadalajara, Mexico. A portion of all sales goes to the Baja Spay and Neuter Foundation to help homeless dogs in Baja, Mexico. They’re doing great work and their efforts have made a visible impact to the community.

All dogs who complete a shoot will receive two hand sewed ponchos for their dog (one in blue and another in pink), a digital copy of their photo and a model credit from @Bajaponchos on Instagram to their 30k followers. There is no cost to dog owners or sitting fee for these shoots.

The 4 sizes / breeds we’re looking for are:

  • Dog 1: Teacup Yorkie or Teacup Chihuahua. Weight 3-5 lbs.
  • Dog 2: Maltese/Poodle Mix/Shih Tzu. Weight 17-23 lbs.
  • Dog 3: Chihuahua. Weight 12-14 lbs.
  • Dog 4: Pitbull. Weight: 50-65 lbs.

Other breeds will be considered, but we’re a bit restricted on sizes as the dogs need to fit in the costumes. Please see the size chart below if you’re unsure whether your dog might be a good fit or what size they may fit best into.

Casting selections are scheduled for one week for today, with shoots to be scheduled at later dates. Shoots will be held in our Fall Road studio in Hampden, and, weather permitting, outside along the harbor.
